Proven Strategies and Techniques To Build YOUR Business

Time Management

Do you want your business results this year to tower over those from the last?

There’s one very simple change that can make it all possible.

It has to do with one of the key differences that I’ve found between people who succeed in building their own business and those who don’t.

And it’s something that everyone has, and everyone has to deal with on a daily basis.

Note from Don: The original version of this video was longer (ironically – a long video about time management :<) but it had more rationale, including some interesting thoughts about managing your relationships with your family while going through this process. I decided to cull the version you see here down to its essentials, but if you would like to see the longer video on Youtube here: entrepreneurial time management.

  1. Nicely done, Don!

I’m pretty jealous of my time these days (my question to weigh the value of activities: “Is this edifying?”) but seeing those numbers really nails it home.

It’s time to trim the fat once again. Thanks for the reminder!

  2. Don;
I do just the opposite of what you are saying. I’m retired and work at my business from 9:00am to 3:30 4:00pm.
In the evening I NEED a few hours of relaxation. I Watch a few news shows on TV and that’s it.
I’m ready of the next day

  3. What I’ve found on Facebook is that if you connect with high energy people, the videos they post tend to lean toward the learning and enlightened side of things. And as was suggested above, laughter correlates with good health, so watching the occasional hilarious video can help you. I never play video games except for the interactive sports games that can be played with one’s children. There are likely negative health effects from playing games in which one kills 100s of people in the span of 10 minutes. If you watch a an extremely violent film or a horror film just before sleeping, I guarantee your sleep will be disturbed.

The point is that if you use discrimination before deciding how to spend your time, you’ll spend it well and as you say Don, you’ll get a lot more done in your life and create more wealth in your bank, more health in your body and more love in your home.

  4. Don,

Great video! I particularly enjoyed your thoughts on “Valuable Family Time”!

Unfortunately, the next button I clicked on your website was the “YouTube” tab, and found myself wasting time watching the “Evolution of Dance”. Is six minutes of laughter considered a waste of time?

Seriously, I love all of your stuff!!

Thanks for everything you have done for me!

      1. You are so right Don and thanks for this great video 🙂

Everyone wants to do the 4 hour work week but not many people actually end up sacrificing their ‘leisure activities’ .

I know Tim Ferriss says outsource the work and get an egg timer to time your activities but not many people have a lot of success in either outsourcing or getting an egg timer (I still haven’t bought the egg timer).

        Cheers

  5. Hi Don,

Can you help all of us and vastly shorten your videos? For example, this video could have been tightened to 5 minutes and provided all the same content.

    Thanks!

  6. Hi Don

    You’re absolutely right…

I give talks on this topic and include reading newspapers
in the list too, but I also ask groups this question:

Would you like to have an extra 9 x 40 hour weeks available
    per year?

    I get a big YES…

    I then say…

Simply watch one hour less TV per day!!!

They are shocked… and then I say, why not watch two hours
less and forget reading the papers… just think of the time
    saved in work weeks!

    Point made?

I totally agree… in fact, I do not have a TV.

Great work… and if I can help you in any way… just contact me.

    Cheers

    Geoff
