A Social Media Guide To the 2010 Olympic Winter Games
Not able to stay glued to your TV all day and still want to know what's going on in the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver? Here are some great ways to follow as much, or as little as you wish:
Twitter:
http://twitter.com/nbcolympics is the official NBC Twitter handle. Obviously US-focused, but lots of good tweets there.
http://twitter.com/NBCOlympics/all includes tweets from individual US athletes too.
Interested in a specific sport? Check out the http://twitter.com/NBCOlympics/lists page for US Twitter feeds by sport
Plus, you'll see lots of Olympic themes showing up in Twitter's Trending Topics list, which may help you identify Olympic themes in the news.
want more traffic and sales?

Hi, I'm Don Crowther and one of the things I love most is helping you build your traffic and sales. The only question is - is that what you want too?
If it is, click the button below, and I'll send you powerful tools and techniques to help you achieve that goal.

Know of other Twitter feeds that don't focus on US athletes? Post them in the comments and I'll add them here.
Facebook:
Gotta say, the Olympic presence on Facebook is downright disappointing here 2 hours before the opening ceremony. We'll watch and see what happens as the games progress.
http://www.facebook.com/olympicgames is the page from the International Olympic Committee (1,266,538 fans as of this writing)
http://www.facebook.com/olympics is the official site from the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games (has 458,494 fans right now!)
Flickr:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/olympicphotos/ is a photo group created for the purpose of connecting and sharing Olympic photos. Let's see how many stay up on the site when the lawyers get involved!
Apps and Widgets:
There are a bunch of Olympics-focused apps for the iPhone. Simply search “Olympics” in the app store and you'll see many. Current top ratings go to NBC Olympics on AT&T (My favorite so far, free)Â a rather foolish NBC Olympics Cheer presented by Coca-Cola (free)Â and 2010Guide – Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games (free.)
Vancouver 2010 On Your Desktop Widget is a desktop widget that feeds breaking stories from the games, alerts you when the finals of your favorite events are about to take place (cool idea!) and lets you know medalists as they are decided.
Don't see your favorite listed here? Add a comment, and we'll share with everyone!
Enjoy the games!
